A sunny day with Miss K.

The weather outside in New York City today was largely sunny with a few scattered clouds. I asked Dr. Khillan (the guy I'm observing) to let me off for the day today, he did whine at first but when I told him there was someone important I needed to see he reluctantly relented. I wasn't able to sleep last night, had butterflies in my stomach and spent an awful lot of time grooming my beard the best I could.

I got up at around 7 in the morning, put my best clothes on and headed to central park. On my way there I received a text from a certain miss K. saying that she'd be a little late. I didn't know a whole lot about Miss K. We'd been talking to each other over snapchat for only a day or two and well today was our first date.

I waited for Miss K. in the central park for 3 hours (lol). I did think about going back to work at Tisch but then I was like no Bertie, greatest things in life come to those who are patient. At around noon I really was starting to think that ok maybe she isn't going to show up but ping went my phone and it was her. She was standing opposite to the Starbucks at Columbus circus. I was on the other side of the central park and literally ran, no, rather flew the quarter mile or so to see her.

Miss K looked beautiful as ever. There she was wearing a white shirt and jeans. Compared to her I looked like a bloody penguin in my white shirt and dress pants lol. Anyways we started talking and went for a walk in the park and it turned out that we had a lot in common. She came to the US after doing her O Levels back in Pakistan and was in her second year of college at Rutgers.

We then went to a Starbucks where she ordered 2 medium Caramel Ribbon Crunch Frappuccinos. I tried paying for them but Starbucks here don't take 100$ bills. I felt so embarrassed at that point that I wished for the ground to open up and swallow me. Anyways we tried to find a place to sit at that Starbucks but weren't able to as it was pretty full.

We then walked over to the Sheraton at 7th Avenue. On our way to the Sheraton, she and I both jumped lol.

Anyways so we got into the lobby at the Sheraton and sat down for a conversation. I will say this right at the onset: I know in my bones that she is the one; I just pray that all of the stars align in the sky and I be hers and she be mine.

We started talking and it turned out that she and I have A LOT in common from how we view relationships to the halal haram ratio. Also the one good thing is that she's in no rush to get married. She wants to complete her education and get married only when she's ready for it, I too need to straighten my life out and get the step 2 + match out of the way.

We then walked to the port authority bus station and it was on our way there that she told me that she'd want to see me again and at that point I thought to myself OH MY GODDDDDDDDDDDDDDD thank you sooooooooooo muchhhhhhhh for thisssss. And I was like yesssssss and honestly I don't remember the last time I was nearly half as happy as I was at that point.

At the station I asked her to look me in the eyes and I told her I liked her and that I wanted to marry her but the both of us are at a point in our lives where it would be in neither of our interests to get married asap, I jokingly said we're gonna get married on the 13th August 2026 lol.

I asked her what made her choose me and she said she'd let me know after two years (😉😜)and then I told her what made me choose her. It was the fact that 1) SHE IS INSANELY, OUT OF THIS WORLD, PRETTY and 2) she's just as conservative and modest as me(I figured that out on the date). I gave her a piece of unsolicited advice which in hindsight she probably didn't even need (she's a very mature person; way more mature than I ever was at 20 or am even at 24 lol): Don't ever stop being yourself

Today was a sunny day that I spent with miss K. It was a day to remember. Also she was someone who I didn't have to tiptoe around, pretend to be someone that I wasn't or be overly cautious with. She was easy to talk to and I now owe her lunch.

I miss Miss K. Already. I hope a part of her misses me too.
